Refund Policy

Last updated 4 August 2026

There are two kinds of purchase on CerebRUST and they are refunded by different people. Find the one you made.

Bought a CerebRUST subscription for your server? That is a purchase from us — see section 1.
Bought VIP on someone's Rust server? That is a purchase from the server owner — see section 2.

1. CerebRUST platform subscriptions

This is the monthly subscription a server owner pays CerebRUST for each connected server. We are the seller and we handle these refunds directly.

1.1 Cancelling

Cancel at any time from the billing area of your dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. We do not pro-rate part-months — cancelling on day 3 of a month still gives you the rest of that month.

1.2 Your 14-day cancellation right

As a consumer buying at a distance you normally have 14 days to change your mind. Because access begins immediately, you are asked to agree that the service starts straight away — which means that if you cancel within the 14 days, you are entitled to a refund reduced in proportion to the service already provided.

If you are buying as a business, the 14-day right does not apply, but section 1.3 still does.

1.3 When we refund anyway

We will refund in full, without argument, if:

  • you were charged after cancelling;
  • you were charged twice for the same server;
  • the platform was unusable for a significant part of your billing period because of a fault at our end;
  • you paid for a server you never managed to connect and you ask within 14 days.

We generally will not refund because you did not use it, because your Rust server closed, or because a feature you hoped for does not exist yet. Ask anyway — we would rather sort it out than have you raise a chargeback.

Email support@cerebrust.xyz with the server and roughly when you were charged. Refunds go back to the original card, usually within 5–10 working days once approved.

2. Server VIP

CerebRUST cannot refund a VIP purchase. When you buy VIP, you buy it from the server owner. The money is paid onto their Stripe account, not ours. We never hold it, so we have nothing to give back — only the owner can issue that refund.

2.1 How to ask for one

  1. Contact the server owner — normally through their Discord, which is linked from the server's page on CerebRUST.
  2. Tell us if you get nowhere. Email support@cerebrust.xyz with the server name and the date of purchase. We will pass the request on and tell you what we hear back.

We keep a record of complaints about owners. An owner who repeatedly takes money and does not deliver will have VIP sales disabled on their servers. That protects the next player; it does not get your money back, which is why step 1 matters.

2.2 What a refund does to your VIP

Refunded VIP is revoked. If a VIP payment is refunded or reversed, we remove the membership — the in-game permissions, the chat tag and the Discord role all go. This happens automatically and applies however the refund came about, including a chargeback.

2.3 What owners should know

If you sell VIP, refunds are yours to decide and yours to issue, from your own Stripe dashboard.

  • A refund revokes the buyer's VIP automatically. You do not need to remove anything by hand.
  • Our platform fee is returned to you when you refund a sale in full, so a refund costs you the sale, not the sale plus our cut.
  • Stripe's card processing fee is not returned by Stripe. That is Stripe's policy, not ours.
  • A chargeback is yours to contest, in your own Stripe dashboard, because the charge is on your account. We will tell you when one arrives and we will remove the VIP, but we cannot fight it for you.

2.4 If a server closes or changes

A Rust server can wipe, change its rules, or shut down. If that happens while you hold VIP, the question of a refund is between you and the owner. We do not compensate for a server that stops being the server you bought into — but an owner who takes VIP money and closes the next day is exactly the case we will act on under 2.1.

3. Comped and gifted VIP

Server owners and CerebRUST staff can give VIP away — for contests, for regulars, or to say thank you. No money changes hands, so there is nothing to refund. The person who granted it can remove it at any time.

4. Chargebacks

Please talk to us, or to the server owner, before going to your bank. A chargeback is slower than an email, it costs the seller a fee on top of the refund, and it usually ends with the same outcome.

Raising a chargeback on a CerebRUST subscription will suspend access for the servers it covered while we sort it out.
