Terms of Service

Last updated 4 August 2026

These terms govern your use of CerebRUST — the dashboard at app.cerebrust.xyz, the API, the Discord bot, and the Cerebrust.cs Oxide plugin. By using any of them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

CerebRUST is operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Contact: support@cerebrust.xyz.

1. What CerebRUST does

CerebRUST collects telemetry from Rust game servers that have installed our plugin, and presents it to the people who run those servers: live maps, player activity, chat, raid tracking, leaderboards and related administration tools. It also maintains a public directory of Rust servers built from publicly available server listings.

CerebRUST is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios, Valve, Discord or Oxide/uMod. Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios. We are an independent third-party tool.

2. Accounts

You sign in with Steam. We do not hold a password for you and we never see your Steam credentials. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping access to your Steam account secure.

You must be old enough to enter a contract in your country. If you are under 18, you may only use CerebRUST with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and you must not make any purchase.

3. Two different kinds of payment

This is the most important section in these terms. CerebRUST handles two kinds of payment, and they are legally different. Read this before buying anything.

3.1 Platform access — you are buying from CerebRUST

A server owner pays CerebRUST a monthly subscription for each server they connect to the platform. That is a contract between you and CerebRUST. We are the seller. Payments are processed by Stripe.

The subscription renews monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing area of your dashboard; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. See the Refund Policy.

3.2 Server VIP — you are buying from the server owner, not from us

When a player buys VIP on a Rust server, that purchase is a contract between the player and that server's owner. The owner is the seller and the merchant of record. The payment is processed onto the owner's own Stripe account. CerebRUST is not a party to that contract — we provide the platform that makes the sale and the perks possible, and we charge the owner a platform fee for doing so.

In practical terms, that means:

  • The server owner decides what VIP includes, what it costs (within limits we set), and whether to keep offering it.
  • The server owner is responsible for delivering it — the in-game permissions, the Discord role, and anything else they advertise.
  • Refund requests go to the server owner, not to CerebRUST. We do not hold the money and cannot refund it on their behalf. See the Refund Policy.
  • The charge on your statement will show the server owner's business name, not CerebRUST's.

CerebRUST does not guarantee that any server will continue to exist, stay online, keep its rules, or keep offering the perks it advertised. A Rust server is run by its owner and can be wiped, changed or shut down at any time. Buy VIP on the basis of what a server is today, not on an expectation that it will stay that way.

3.3 Prices and taxes

Prices are in pounds sterling. We may change our platform subscription price; a change applies to new subscriptions, and an existing subscription keeps its price until you cancel it and start a new one. Server owners set their own VIP prices and may change them, in which case the new price applies to new purchases only.

Server owners are responsible for their own tax obligations on the money they earn from VIP sales. CerebRUST does not provide tax advice and does not account for tax on an owner's behalf.

4. If you sell VIP on your server

Selling VIP through CerebRUST makes you a seller with your own obligations. By enabling it, you agree that:

  • You will complete Stripe's identity and business verification. We never see or store your bank details — Stripe handles that directly.
  • You accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement in addition to these terms.
  • You will describe what VIP includes honestly, and deliver it. Advertising perks you do not provide is grounds for us to disable VIP sales on your server.
  • You are responsible for handling your buyers' refund requests, and for any chargebacks raised against your account.
  • We deduct a platform fee from each sale, shown to you before you set your price. Stripe's card processing fee is charged to your account separately by Stripe.
  • You will not use VIP to sell anything that breaches Facepunch's rules for Rust servers, or anything illegal.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use CerebRUST to harass, stalk, dox or threaten anyone.
  • Attempt to access data for a server you do not own or moderate, or otherwise circumvent our access controls.
  • Scrape, resell or redistribute data from the platform, or use it to build a competing dataset.
  • Interfere with the service — automated abuse of the API, deliberately flooding ingest, probing for vulnerabilities without permission.
  • Share an ingest token, or use one for a server it was not issued for.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@cerebrust.xyz rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it.

6. Data about players

If you run a server using CerebRUST, you are asking us to process data about the people who play on it — including names, Steam IDs, in-game positions, chat and connection IP addresses. You are responsible for telling your players that you use CerebRUST and for having a lawful basis to do so. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what is collected and for how long it is kept.

7. Availability

CerebRUST is provided as-is. We aim to keep it running and we publish incidents on our status page, but we do not offer a service level agreement or an uptime guarantee, and we do not credit or refund subscriptions for downtime. The platform is under active development; features can change, and features described as experimental can be removed.

We keep backups of the database but we do not guarantee that any particular data can be recovered. Telemetry is deleted on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy, and once deleted it is gone.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using CerebRUST at any time. Cancel your subscription from the dashboard; removing the plugin from your server stops all telemetry.

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if your payment fails and is not resolved, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of the period you have paid for.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid CerebRUST in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profit, lost players, lost revenue from your server, or loss of data.

We are not liable for what a server owner does. If you bought VIP and did not get it, your claim is against the owner who sold it to you. We will help you get in touch with them and will act against owners who repeatedly fail to deliver, but we are not the seller.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you before it takes effect — through the dashboard, the community Discord, or by email if you have given us one. Continuing to use CerebRUST after a change means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
